Ran Chico Christian School into the ground cutting off hundreds of families and students from receiving a high quality Christian education like no other.

  • Well, Neighborhood Church to me is like home away from home. I have been apart of Bethel Church, as I attended their school of ministry, and served under their roof with them as my home church for quite awhile. When I go to Neighborhood Church, I encounter that kingdom revival culture/mindset, and this makes all the difference to me as a believer!!

    Greetings to all,

First off I just want to clarify that I have no intends to denounced the
good works or reputation of Neighborhood church. Throughout the years neighborhood church has done great and amazing things for the Lord and continues to be a beacon of light to the city of Chico. I love the people there, they are very friendly and the program was great. In two recent visits I found that the teaching was lacking and did not emphasized the points of what the Word was teaching. The sermon was on miracles which I completely agree with, God still do miracles today but what I see that bothered me was that the Gospel of our Jesus was completely missing. This greatly bothered me because the whole time of the message was in the Gospel of John and focus on the 7 miracles that pertain to the 7 Great I Am's of Jesus. In the Gospel according to John, only 7 miracles were recorded and each one was to prove one point, that Jesus is God in human flesh, Emmanuel, God with us! The Word became flesh and dwelt among us revealing the Glory of the One and only begotten Son. He came to borne our sin on the cross so that we "may have life, and have it in full". "So that we may have life" implies that we are dead in our transgressions and Christ came to give spiritual life, not physical life. In Chapter 3 Nicodemus came and ask Jesus by night that how can a man be born again when he is old? Jesus answered that what is born of the flesh is of the flesh, and the Spirit of Spirit. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and therefore we need the forgiveness of sin through His blood. We then receive His grace, mercy, Spirit and become a new creation in Christ for the old is gone and the new has come. The Gospel of John is a canonical Gospel and it sums up the main points of the other three Gospels to define the Christian faith. I am perplexed that this was missing in the sermon and even if 5 minutes where left out of the program to explain the Gospel, I would have not left this review. I've only visited the church twice so my input should be taken with a grain of salt. I love each and every single one of you at Neighborhood by same measure of His agape love that He has given me and will pray for continual leading and blessings on you guys.

    Brother-in-Christ,
    Michael

  • My home away from home ... complete with a 'family'. The leadership and people in the congregation are the real deal. The Holy Spirit shows up every Sunday and the Pastor Andrew is an incredible speaker. He makes it easy to create a picture in your mind about what he is explaining. He has great energy and is super funny too. Please come join us ♡!
